Drywall boards are complete

We are picking up momentum.  Eric and his team completed the drywall boarding today.  Next is the messy stage - the taping and the mudding and then we will have a paintable surface.  The addition is really taking shape and we hopefully will have the space ready for painting in the next two weeks.  Time to start selecting colours - this is where it will get complicated!!!

It has been a while...

As the title says it has been a while since I have had the opportunity to post anything on the addition. Instead I have had to assume the role of General Contractor and General Labourer due to the disapearance of the company that had been doing the work. Call this yet another chapter of the saga of Mohawk Bay. At least the project is moving forward again.

The next three images are of the Insulation and Vapour barrier. Exciting I know :)

It was a race to the wire to have the insulation and vapour barrier installed before last Wednesday night as the Drywall installers were coming Thursday night.
The next two images are of the scond floor rooms and of the drywall installation. The crew was able to hammer out pretty much THE ENTIRE second floor in one day. It was a long day but they stayed until it was done. The rooms are truly taking shape.

Today the main floor is being boarded. WAHOOO!!!!!
The next few steps will be happening in a short order.
- Taping and sanding
- Painting
- Flooring
- Millwork
- MOVING IN!!!!!!!
The end of Phase I is in site.
